Brexit Ready February 2019
Dear Customer,
Regarding Brexit and our strategy and readiness for what may come, whatever that may be, we have teamed up with Manifest Ireland in order to become AEO approved so that we can be your one stop shop for all your Customs and Excise requirements regardless of the direction of Brexit whether hard or soft.
Hopefully common sense will prevail, and the UK will leave the EU in a timely and well ordered manner with a deal that suits all parties, in which case we envisage there being time to make suitable arrangements prior to the end of the transition period in December 2020. In the event of a cliff edge exit on the 29th March 2019 we are confident that we will be able to facilitate the necessary requirements by Customs and Excise in Ireland, but this will require some additional input from the “Consignor” in terms of shipment information that we will be required to provide to Irish Customs.
In order to our make our Traffic Management System ready for the preparation and transmission of Customs Entries, we would like to identify the additional data we will require for all consignments to the Republic of Ireland. This additional data may not be required in the short term and we will not implement the change until we are clear what the exit situation is, but we thought it prudent to allow you to prepare to make the necessary preparations at your end if the worst outcome materialises.
The additional data required in the EDI files will be:
- CONSIGNOR EORI NUMBER (OWNER OF THE GOODS IF FROM A 3PL)
- COMMODITY CODE (8 – 10 DIGIT NUMBER)
- ACCURATE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
- CONSIGNEE CONTACT DETAILS (EMAIL OR TELEPHONE NO)
- CONSIGNEE EORI NUMBER
- COUNTRY OF MANUFACTURE
- VALUE OF PRODUCTS
- TOTAL SHIPMENT VALUE
- REASON FOR EXPORT
